Illustration Friday: Topic: Play
The summer boredom buster for me as a kid was catching those slow moving june beetles, tying a string to their legs and letting them bob about for a while. Of course, I would let them go…Hey, I can’t even squash a spider! The thought of it kills me. I pick the little guys up in a cup and put them outside.
This is a digital technique I’ve been playing with.

i also take the spiders out in a cup. my 10-year-old and I went through a huge ordeal one day saving one, only to have my 14-year-old come in moments later announcing “mom, i just killed a big spider on the porch” Arrgh!

OMG! I know someone who tied a string around a grasshopper’s neck and took him for rides in her bike basket! She called him “hoppy” of course! You are not alone!
